Ever since I was little, I have attended the North Carolina 4th of July Festival in Southport, NC. I can only describe this festival as Americana Perfection. People come from all across North Carolina to watch the parade which represents Main Street, USA in its best patriotic glory, shop the arts & craft made by local vendors, donate to local food drives & Red Cross Blood Mobile, participate in various contests and visit historical sites open to the public. And who can forget the fireworks display? Oak Island will have their display on Friday, July 1st at the Oak Island Pier beginning approximately 9:00 PM. Southport will have theirs on Monday, July 4th at the waterfront beginning at 9:00 PM as well.
