In today’s market, it has become crucial for real estate agents to understand and be able to process short sales and foreclosures. With nearly a third of all recent homes sold being either a short sale or foreclosure, the agents of Team Gale realized that it was very important to become experts in these areas. At the end of 2009, two of the agents on our team, Tom Gale and Brett Adams, received their Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) Certification. The program is offered by the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council of the National Association of Realtors, and it trains agents on how to manage short sale, foreclosure, and real-estate owned transactions. To receive their certification, Tom and Brett had to complete a full day education course and view three different hour long webinars. The course taught them more about the critical skills needed to help their buyers and sellers navigate through the complexities involved with short sales and foreclosures.
